NEWS REPORT: ehfTV series shifts to Kiel for the first leg of the VELUX EHF Champions League Quarter-finals as two most heralded clubs of the competition lock horns
MOTW features a clash of titans
No less than 11 EHF Champions League titles will congregate on Sunday 24 April (19:30 hrs local time) in Kiel’s Sparkassen Arena when THW Kiel and FC Barcelona Lassa as two most successful teams of the Europe’s top flight meet in the first quarter-final leg. Only one of these powerhouses can make it to the VELUX EHF FINAL4 and the first episode of this battle will be presented to all handball fans as a new sequel of the Match of the Week series on ehfTV.
"Not since Perseus faced the Kraken have we had such a "Clash of Titans". One big name less will be in Cologne,” said ehfTV commentator Tom O’Brannagain who will guide all viewers through this match.
While eight-time winners and the defending champions Barcelona clinched the quarter-final berth courtesy of their Group B first rank, three-time trophy holders Kiel were given a good test for their money by Hungarian MOL-Pick Szeged in the Last 16.
The last stop of the Match of the Week series will be announced only after the completion of the first leg.
