NEWS REPORT: Sixteen teams in the Men's EHF Cup Group Phase will learn their fate on Thursday, when the draw in Vienna will determine the composition of all four groups.
Pots for the group phase draw confirmed
The fourth season of the reformed Men's EHF Cup will see its fourth champions after the defending winners Füchse Berlin have been eliminated in the last qualification round.
The 16 successful teams, who made it to the group phase, have to wait until Thursday, when the draw in Vienna (at 11:00 hrs local time) will divide them into four groups of four teams.
No previous winners, nine newcomers
Only seven participants in the group phase have a previous experience with this stage of the Men's EHF Cup since its merging with the Cup Winners' Cup in 2012/13.
Denmark's Team Tvis Holstebro, Spain's Fraikin BM Granollers and Pfadi Winterthur from Switzerland made it back again after their last year's appearances.
Chambery Savoie Handball from France return after one-year absence as they played in the group phase as well as their fellow French team HBC Nantes, who also played in the inaugural season together with two German teams Frisch Auf Göppingen and the former EHF Champions League winners SC Magdeburg, who are also back in the European second-tier.
