Germany continue their winning streak against Austria with a thrilling victory in their opener at the Men's EHF EURO 2026.

Germany remain unbeaten in official matches against Austria, winning their Men's EHF EURO 2026 opener in Herning, but it was a tough and close clash. The neighbours’ duel, attended by 5,820 fans, saw two extremely movable and active defensive sides, as Austria stopped the fast match play of their opponents for a long time.

Finally, Lukas Zerbe’s penalty goal for 28:25 and a penalty save by Andreas Wolff, both in minute 58, decided the match.
