There is exciting news for handball fans in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as broadcasters DAZN and Pluto TV introduced the first exclusive, free-to-air handball channel, ready for the new season in the EHF club competitions.

DAZN Handball and Pluto TV will delight handball fans with more than 50 live games per season, including the Machineseeker EHF Champions League, EHF Champions League Women and the EHF European League Men and Women, as well as a wide selection of extensive EHF content, free of charge.

The new channel will show the best games and biggest stars from around Europe, cementing handball as one of the most popular TV sports in Germany and the wider DACH region.

Showing one match exclusively live from each round of the EHF club competitions, beginning with the EHF Champions League in September, the new channel will broadcast the TruckScout24 EHF FINAL4, the EHF FINAL4 Women, plus the EHF Finals for both EHF European League competitions.

Much of the channel's focus will be on the German clubs' journeys through Europe, therefore fans can expect to see the likes of Füchse Berlin, SC Magdeburg, THW Kiel and HB Ludwigsburg in action, though all the top teams will be on display!

Highlights and repeats of matches, plus more content from the extensive EHF catalogue will be included.

David Szlezak, EHF Marketing Managing Director, "Giving free access to handball matches to all fans in Germany is a significant step into growing the game in one of the biggest handball markets and increasing the reach of our sport. The EHF Champions League and the EHF European League competitions can only benefit from such exposure."

Alice Mascia, CEO DACH and GROUP CMO at DAZN: “Our partnership with Pluto TV is an essential part of our strategy to make a wide range of high-quality live sports content available to sports fans. With the launch of the new handball channel and the continuation of our popular darts and women's sports channels, we are offering our viewers even more top sport and exclusive content. This expansion demonstrates our commitment to providing fans with an unparalleled sports experience across multiple platforms.”

Olivier Jollet, Executive Vice President and International General Manager of Pluto TV: “By launching a channel dedicated exclusively to handball, we are not only offering handball fans exclusive content for free, but are also introducing this sport to new viewers on our platform, thereby appealing to various interests. We can’t wait for the channel to be accessible to everyone!”

The new channel launched on 1 August, 2024 and is available in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
