What a spring and what a summer for David Späth! First, the 21-year-old goalkeeper was the hero for Rhein-Neckar Löwen, steering his side to the top of the German cup podium after beating EHF Champions League winners SC Magdeburg in a penalty shoot-out. Then, Späth became one of the golden boys, when Germany became U21 World Champions on home soil - and was voted into the All-star Team as the best goalkeeper, as he was in 2019, when he was key to Germany becoming European champions at the U19 EHF EURO in Croatia.
