Surprises came thick and fast in the last of four days of the men’s and women’s EHF Beach Handball Champions Cup 2022 tournaments, as BHT Petra Plock and OVB Beach Girls were crowned as new champions in Porto Santo, Madeira.

The title favourites, GEA A.M. Almeria, were eliminated by a shoot-out in the first semi-final, while the reigning men’s champions Fomento Deporte CBMP Ciudad de Malaga finished fourth.
