The EHF European Cup Men final between AEK Athens HC and Ystads IF will be rescheduled after both legs have been postponed due to positive Covid-19 cases in the Ystads IF team.

The first-leg match was initially scheduled for Saturday 15 May in Athens, the second for Saturday 22 May in Ystad.

Following close consultation with the club medical staff and the Swedish infection control authority, Ystads IF informed the EHF on Thursday that the team would not be able to travel to Greece for Saturday’s first-leg match.

On Friday it became clear that next week's second-leg match in Sweden cannot take place as planned, either.

The EHF underlines that both matches are only postponed, not cancelled. The EHF is cooperating with both teams in order to find new playing dates, with confirmation of the new fixtures to be expected over the next few days.
