NEWS: With the European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku (AZE) and German International Youth Championship in Düsseldorf (GER), the EHF Young Referee Project has finished for the 2018/19 season
Busy summer of EHF Young Referee Project comes to an end
After six tournaments across Europe, the EHF Young Referee Project has concluded for the 2018/9 season. In total, 51 pairs were part of the Young Referee Project.
During the tournaments in Prague (CZE), Lagos (POR), Bydgoszcz (POL), Gothenburg (SWE), Baku (AZE) and Düsseldorf (GER), the young referees were supervised by EHF Lecturers.
Aside from officiating the matches at each tournament, the referee pairs also completed the rule test and had to prove their fitness with shuttle run test.
European Youth Olympic Festival – Baku, AZE
The European Youth Olympic Festival took place from 21 to 27 July in Baku, Azerbaijan. Among many sports, the festival included under 17 men’s and women’s handball tournaments. Eight YRP pairs were nominated for the two tournaments.

German International Youth Championship – Düsseldorf, GER
From 19 to 21 August, 16 teams competed at the German International Youth Championship (GIYC) in Düsseldorf. The GIYC partnered with the EHF, who used this tournament for the EHF Young Referee Project.
Six referee pairs were nominated together with three EHF Lecturers. The busy schedule included the rule test, a shuttle run, video analysis of the matches and presentations from EHF Lecturers.
