GROUP C
HC Dobgrogea Sud Constanta (ROU) vs TTH Holstebro (DEN) 22:28 (8:16)
Holstebro kept a theoretical chance of a place in the quarter-finals alive with a clear win against Constanta. The six-goal difference might also prove crucial in the event of a direct comparison with a second-placed club from one of the other groups.
Holstebro had the upper hand from the start of the match.
A successful 5-1 defence in front of a stellar Sebastian Frandsen in goal allowed the visitors to take an early two-goal lead, and an effective established attack as well as an even more effective fast break phase enabled to them to increase their lead steadily throughout the first half.
By pushing their defence more forward, Constanta managed to reduce the deficit to five goals at 20:15, but it did not take Holstebro long to read this new defensive formation by their opponents and increase their lead again.
Both teams will now have to wait until the last match day next weekend to know their fate in the competition.
