GROUP C Liberbank Cuenca (ESP) vs HC Dobrogea Sud Constanta (ROU) 26:28 (13:14)
With their two-goal win in Spain on Sunday, Constanta kept their quarter-final dreams alive, while it may now be more than difficult for Cuenca to join the last eight.
Both teams started at a very high pace, at which Constanta were best, leading 2:0 and 3:1.
As Cuenca managed to take some pace off the game, though, the home team got more into the match, and if they had not missed a penalty and had three shots hit the woodwork, they would have been ahead by more than the 4:3 lead they managed to establish.
Instead, Constanta regained their two-goal lead, but once again without being able to hold on to it and the match remained equal, never more than two goals separating the teams.
In the end, it was Constanta who had their noses in front, and with 24 seconds left, Dalibor Cutura decided the matter, making it 28:26.
