GROUP C
FC Porto Sofarma (POR) vs TTH Holstebro (DEN) 32:29 (13:12)
Holstebro managed to hang in for some time, but in the end, they could not keep pace with the home team. The opening half was as equal as the first match, which Porto won 33:31.
Porto managed to take three-goal lead at 8:5 and 9:6, before Holstebro bounced back at 9:9 and kept the game even until half-time. The visitors stayed level for the first 10 minutes of the second half, but slowly, Porto’s seven-against-six attack paid off. With Rui Silva as a brilliant playmaker, they finally created the deciding distance.
The home team went from 22:19 to 25:19 and 26:20, and for the rest of the match, kept the score line to at least three goals.
Porto now await the other round 4 match in the group, where Liberbank Cuenca host HC Dobrogea Sud Constanta on Sunday. A draw in that game will send Porto on to the quarter-finals as winners of the group.
