CSM announce seven more transfers for next season

A day after Nora Mørk announced that she will join CSM Bucuresti on a two-year contract, the Romanian powerhouse confirmed seven more big-name transfers for the upcoming season on Friday.

Mørk will be the jewel of the crown, the crowd pleaser and the perfect right back to complement CSM’s nine-meter line, but the Romanian side has added firepower to all compartments.

Pintea "happy to make a comback to Romania"

EHF EURO 2018 All-star line player Crina Pintea will make her comeback to a Romanian team after four seasons abroad with Thüringer HC, Paris 92 and Györi Audi ETO KC.

“I am delighted to have signed a two-year contract with CSM and I am very happy to make a comeback to Romania after four years. Until the summer, though, I am a Györ player and I will give everything for my team,” said Pintea, 28, in an Instagram post.

Three other Romanian national team players will join CSM. The 24-year-old goalkeeper Denisa Dedu and 24-year-old left back Gabriela Perianu will return to Romania after a two-year stint with Siófok KC in Hungary. Moreover, 29-year-old right wing Laura Chiper will switch from Corona Brasov.

While CSM have become more focused on working with Romanian players after a few years where they mainly relied on foreign players, the strategy has not shifted much.

“The CSM project is very interesting for any player, everything about the way the team is built oozes confidence. This team can win anything,” CSM president Andrei Luca said.

Two fan favourites will be back

Two fan favourites, Carmen Martin and Linnea Torstenson, will be back after they were an integrant part of CSM’s squad which won the Women’s EHF Champions League in 2016.

Martin, 30, is the captain of the Spanish national team, while Torstenson is a 35-year-old defensive specialist, who was the brains and the soul of CSM’s defence in their title-winning season. Both played for French side Nice in the past two seasons.

Also, Montenegrin right back Andrea Klikovac will wear the CSM jersey in the future. Klikovac, who plied her trade for Vardar between 2012 and 2018, is now playing for Kisvárdai KC in Hungary.
