Sulic ruled out for two games

The Court of Handball has decided to impose a two-match suspension and a fine of €500 on the player Renato Sulic from Orlen Wisla Plock.

Following his unsportsmanlike conduct during the first leg match of the Group C/D Knockout phase of the VELUX EHF Champions League 2018/19 match, Sulic will now miss the second leg away at Bjerringbro-Silkeborg on Sunday, 3 March.

The court found in substance that the player’s hit of the opponent was intentional, malicious and unrelated to any acceptable and usual offensive action in handball which subsequently endangered the opponent’s physical integrity. Such behaviour meets the characteristics of a severe unsportsmanlike conduct deserving further sanctions.

An appeal may be filed within 7 days but shall not have any suspensive effect.
