RK Nexe (CRO) vs TSV Hannover-Burgdorf (GER) 29:25 (14:9)
With Vincent Büchner’s goal, TSV Hannover-Burgdorf started better in the clash of round 1 winners. However, the home team seemingly did not want to repeat the scenario of the previous match against Tatabánya, and they took the lead in the 6th minute.
Marko Buvinic’s and Ivan Vida’s scored three goals each, helping the Croatian club to lead by five goals at half-time (14:9). Both sides’ defences worked well, although Hannover’s 32% in attack efficiency helped Hrvoje Horvat’s squad to restrict Hannover-Burgdorf to only nine goals in the first half.
Hannover-Burgdorf put the pressure on the hosts after the break with improved scoring efficiency, while the match became tougher with a number of suspensions. Halil Jaganjac finished the match as the top scorer for Nexe with five goals.
The outcome was known two minutes before the final whistle when Moreno Car saved Evgeni Pevnov’s shot from six metres and Nexe increased their lead.
Hannover-Burgdorf will visit Tatabánya in Győr, Hungary while Nexe host Eurofarm Rabotnik in the next round.
