DAZN secures Men’s EHF Cup rights in Germany and Austria
A new broadcast deal has been announced by the marketing arm of the European Handball Federation, EHF Marketing GmbH.
DAZN has signed a two-season agreement for the rights to the Men’s EHF Cup in 2018/19 and 2019/20.
DAZN will show all Men’s EHF Cup Group Phase home and away matches involving German teams – including THW Kiel, Füchse Berlin and TSV Hannover-Burgdorf – as well as other selected matches and the highlight of the competition, the Men’s EHF Cup Finals.
David Szlezak, Managing Director of EHF Marketing GmbH, said: “With three German teams in the group phase, and with Füchse Berlin as defending champions, the Men’s EHF Cup has a significant following on the German market.
“We are very pleased to have secured DAZN as a broadcast partner, in a deal that not only secures extensive coverage of the Men’s EHF Cup in Germany and Austria, but also introduces our competition to an innovative, revolutionary, multi-sport streaming service, which already has millions of subscribers across seven markets.”
The cooperation will start with the beginning of the Group Phase of the Men’s EHF Cup, with the first round to be played during the weekend of 09/10 February 2019.
