Beach action x 5: Five ebt tournaments played over the weekend

The European Beach Handball Tour (ebt) continues this weekend, with five tournaments in total being played in Spain, Portugal, Poland and Great Britain.

The London Beach Handball International Tournament (21/22 July) is a debutant on the ebt and attracts its participants with a very special feature – all matches will be played on Olympic sand.

The sand court has been created at Loxford Park, Redbridge, just a few kilometres from the London 2012 Olympic Games Park, using sand from the beach volleyball tournament during the Games in the event held at the world-famous Horse Guards Parade. More than 20 teams are expected to participate.

In Spain, two tournaments are being played: The Arena 1000 Antequera in the Province of Malaga and the Torneo Balonmano Playa Ciudad de Medina in Medina de Pomar.

In Portugal, the And'Praia 2018 - Porto Lazer II tournament in played in Porto. Live streaming is available on the Youtube channel of the Handball Association of Porto.

In the Polish city of Gdansk, the PGNiG Summer Superliga arrives at its second to last destination. Five tournaments have already been played. From 3 to 5 August, Stare Jablonki will be the final spot.

Men’s and women’s rankings

With 44 out of 67 tournaments played and confirmed, the men’s and women’s ranking look as follows. In the men’s competition, Detono Zagreb still top the ranking with 1,733 points despite not having gained any points at the Camelot tournament last week. BHT Auto Forum Petra Plock are second (1,533) ahead of Palletways Verallia Azuqueca (1,475) in third.

In the women’s competition, the Polish team BHT GRU JUKO Piotrków Trybunalski (1,512 points) ranks first ahead of WBHC Kontesa Nera (1,365) from Croatia and CAIPIranhas from Germany (1,317).
