NEWS: Ten pairs of young referees have been nominated by the European Handball Federation to lead the handball matches at the European Universities Games starting this Saturday in Coimbra, Portugal
 

Young referees will whistle matches at European Universities Games 2018

The Portuguese city of Coimbra is the host of the European Universities Games 2018 and ten pairs of young referees have been nominated by the European Handball Federation to whistle the event’s handball matches.

Group matches are played from Saturday to Monday (14 to 16 July); from 17 to 19 July the knockout rounds are being played.

The referees nominated are

  • Alejandro Hoz / Axel Riloba (ESP)
  • Fernando Costa / Diogo Teixeira (POR)
  • Ioannis Fotakidis / Charalampos Kinatzidis (GRE)
  • Anja Paher / Anja Zgajner (SLO)
  • Lejla Jashar / Mihaela Kapsareva (MKD)
  • Stefan Berdic / Filip Sorak (SRB)
  • Ivan Drobnjak / Nemanja Rovcanin (MNE)
  • Gokhan Adiguzel / Ildeniz Kaygusuz (TUR)
  • Jorgen Jorstad / Sondre Liltved (NOR)
  • Anastasiia Kuruch / Hanna Silvestrova (UKR)

The referees’ programme starts with a referee conference including a physical & theoretical test on Friday.

Furthermore, the following officials have been nominated to examine and assess the performances of the referees and to guide them through the event.
