PREVIEW: A total of 10 ebt events are to be played in nine countries this weekend.
Croatian sides on top as ebt continues
Greece, Serbia, Portugal, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Croatia, Spain and the Netherlands are all enjoying a busy week of beach handball action, with a total of 10 ebt competition trophies to be decided across these nations on Sunday.
Alexandroupolis Beach Handball 2018 in Greece threw off on Wednesday and will conclude on Sunday after four days of exciting competition in Agia Paraskevi. In Serbia, Novi Sad 2018 began on Thursday and will also finish on Sunday.
Friday sees another seven ebt competitions begin: Nazare Dreams Beach Handball in Portugal, Prague Open Beach Handball in Czech Republic, Bartenbeach 2018 in Germany, PGNiG Summer Superliga Mielno, Zagreb Open 2018, Arena 500 Ciudad Real and Amsterdam Beachhandball Tournament.
Lastly, another Arena 500 event will take place in Playa del Carmen, Spain, on Saturday and Sunday.
Fans have the opportunity to follow the matches, with Nazare Dreams Beach Handball games live streamed on the official Facebook page, as are the matches at the Summer Superliga Mielno. Zagreb Open 2018 games will be streamed live on the official Beach Handball Croatia website, and news updates and pictures will be shared on the Facebook page.
Croatian sides lead the way
After the verification of points for 14 of 64 ebt 2018 events so far this season, Croatian teams are dominating both the men’s and women’s competitions. WBHC Kontesa Nera lead the women’s ranking, with 755 points, ahead of fellow Croatian team Toyota MHC Dubrava on 745. Polish side BHT Pyrki Poznan are third with 627 points, while Serbian team BHC 2areg are fourth with 613. Detono Zagreb sit in fifth position with 573 points.
In the men’s competition, Detono Zagreb currently top the table, with 785 points. BHC Sesvete, also from Croatia, are second on 775. Danish side HEI Beachhandball rank third, with 703 points; BHC 2areg are fourth with 663; and German team Shotgunners Beach are fifth, with 553 points.
