Belgium to face hosts in Women’s Trophy Final

With decisive wins in their respective semi-finals, Belgium and hosts Bosnia-Herzegovina qualified for the ultimate match at the 2018 IHF/EHF Women’s Trophy, to be played on Sunday live on ehfTV.com.

Belgium defeated Luxembourg 32:20 in the first semi-final clash on Saturday, before Bosnia-Herzegovina beat Estonia 30:24. Nine goals towards Belgium’s victory from Lauranne Beckers were not enough to make her the top scorer of the day – that honour went to Adelisa Dautovic, who tallied 10 goals for Bosnia-Herzegovina.

In the first round of 5-8 placement matches at the tournament in Tuzla, Moldova recorded a 32:22 victory over Azerbaijan and Cyprus won 24:19 against Great Britain. Nine goals for the current top scorer of the Women’s Trophy, Azerbaijan’s Kamila Bayramova, took her overall tally to 35.

Bayramova will have the chance to increase her impressive individual effort when Azerbaijan play Great Britain for seventh place on the final ranking, after which Moldova and Cyprus will fight for fifth.

The first placement match will throw off on Sunday at 11:00, before the medal round begins with the 3/4 play-off at 15:00 local time. The final is set to begin at 17:00 local time in Tuzla.
