Spanish federation hosts cooperation visit

The EHF President Michael Wiederer was in Madrid on 6/7 May 2018 as the guest of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation.

He was present at the final of the Copa del Rey held at the Madrid Arena; the event was won for the 22nd time by FC Barcelona Lassa, their fifth cup title in a row.

Mr Wiederer took the opportunity to visit the headquarters of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation and speak with the federation’s president, Francisco V. Blázquez.

Their meeting covered a range of international issues including Spain’s joint bid for the Men’s EHF EURO 2022 together with Belgium and France.

During his time in Madrid, the EHF president also met with Joan Marin Managing Director of ASOBAL and the former player, José Javier Hombrados, President of the Madrid Handball Federation.
