Bulatovic fights for fifth trophy, Györ duo aim for fourth

If FINAL4 debutants Rostov-Don win the trophy at the Women’s EHF FINAL4 in Budapest on 12-13 May, it would make Katarina Bulatovic the third most successful player in the history of the competition.

Having won four trophies with three different clubs so far, another title would leave Bulatovic just one short of all-time record holders Bojana Popovic and Ausra Fridrikas, who each won six times.

The Montenegrin right back leads a field of eight multiple Champions League winners, who will be fighting for the trophy in the Hungarian capital. Last season, 12 players were involved after winning the title on various occasions before.

Defending champions Györi Audi ETO KC count on five multiple winners, including duo Eduarda Amorim and Anita Görbicz, who were part of all three title-winning teams in the last five years.

Bulatovic is the only multiple winner in the Rostov squad, while CSM Bucuresti also have one player with more than one trophy to her name: another Montenegrin player, Majda Mehmedovic.

And the only multiple winner in the squad of last season’s finalist Vardar won her trophies as teammate of Bulatovic and Mehmedovic with Buducnost: Serbian line player Dragana Cvijic, who will join CSM next season.

Also, Vardar coach Irina Dibirova lifted the trophy twice. She can become the first woman to win the EHF Champions League as a player and a coach.
