Beach handball confirmed on EUSA programme

Meeting on the fringes of the final weekend of the Men’s EHF EURO 2018 in Croatia, the EHF and the European Universities Sports Association (EUSA) signed an extension to their existing agreement, which will see beach handball added to the body’s sports programme from 2019.

The EHF, represented by the federation's President, Michael Wiederer; Secretary General, Martin Hausleitner and EHF Beach Commission Chairman, Ole Jorstad, met with EUSA representatives Adam Roczek, EUSA President and Besim Aliti, EUSA Sport Manager to sign a new Memorandum of Unterstanding between the two bodies.

EUSA representatives confirmed Belgrade, Serbia, as the location of the first edition of the EUSA-EHF European Beach Handball Championship in 2019.

Also at the meeting was Sinisa Jasnic, President of the Serbian University Sports Federation and European Universities Games 2020.

The championship in Belgrade will serve as a test event for the European Universities Games in 2020, with the objective being to also include beach handball on the programme for this event.
