Charity match day in the European top flight supports a good cause

“My dream is…” was the slogan of the past match day of the VELUX EHF Champions League and many actions in favour of the child-centred organisation took place.

Since this September, Plan International has been charity partner of the premier league, that on this day draw the attention to the children in developing countries and that they have to get the same rights and opportunities as all children in the world. Because they also dream of having a safe and self-determined life.

To make these dreams come true, VELUX EHF Champions League and participating handball clubs informed about the work of Plan International over the whole round in the arenas and via their social media channels. The flag children, for example, wore T-shirts of the child-centred organisation.

Players, such as Luka Mrakovcic from RK PPD Zagreb, talked about their dreams under the hashtag #planinternational. During the match HBC Nantes vs FC Barcelona, Cyril Dumoulin was awarded player of the match by Plan International. And also Kentin Mahé, Lasse Svan and Thomas Morgensen from SG Flensburg-Handewitt sent a clear signal for the rights of the child.

Additionally to the charity match day, VELUX EHF Champions League has a special action: on the platform www.unitedcharity.de, there is an auction for an exclusive behind the scenes tour at the VELUX EHF FINAL4 2018 – until Tuesday, 5 pm.

This way, every fan can help to make the dreams of children in developing countries come true, as the Plan International fund "Mädchen-Fonds" will benefit from the auction's proceeds. Through targeted projects, this fund contributes to improving the development chances of girls and to strengthening their rights sustainably.
