SG BBM Bietigheim (GER) vs Buducnost (MNE) 27:21 (12:10)
In their first season in the Women’s EHF Champions League, Bietigheim can celebrate having reached the main round.
At the same time, the German champions avenged the 32:24 defeat they suffered in Podgorica in their opening game of the group matches.
Buducnost were dominating at the start of Sunday’s match in Ludwigsburg and the visitors were leading by three goals several times.
As the first half progressed, though, Bietigheim found their game and changed the course of the match around the break.
With six goals in succession, the home team went from 8:10 down to 14:10 up. From that point on, they did not look back and increased their lead to a maximum of eight goals.
While Bietigheim are sure to take at least two points with them to the main round, Buducnost will need a point at home against Vipers Kristiansand next Saturday to join the German side and French group leaders Metz Handball in the next stage.
