Trio of Luxembourg sides in Challenge Cup third round

Luxembourg will be the most strongly represented nation in Round 3 of the Men's Challenge Cup, with three teams from the country playing the next round.

HC Berchem will enter the tournament in the next round, where they are meeting ORK Zamot 65 from Serbia. Handball Kaerjeng qualified last weekend and will be up against Russian SKIF Krasnodar.

Finally, this weekend, Red Boys Differdange became the third team from Luxembourg to qualify for the third round.

Having won 32:26 at home against European debutants Kauno Azuolas-KTU Kaunas from Lithuania, Red Boys could live with their 26:25 away defeat and still progress, where Bulgarian HC Dobrudja will be waiting.

Russian duo to feature

Russia have two teams in Round 3. Both SKIF Krasnodar and Dynamo-Victor have made it through.

Having won 25:24 in Lithuania against VHC Sviesa Vilnius, Dynamo already had an edge. On home ground the Russian team gave the Vilnius club no quarter, winning 36:24.

Cruising through

Just as expected, RK Konjuh Zivinice and A.C. PAOK finished the job they started last weekend.

Being up 39:15 after their home game, Bosnian team Zivinice cruised into the next round with a 33:24 away win against Proodeftikos Paphos from Cyprus.

PAOK were leading 34:17 after their away game against Aloysians Von Taine, and at home, the Greek team won by an even bigger margin of 39:15.

In the next round in November, Zivinice will meet SGS Ramhat Hashron HC from Israel, while Turkish side Göztepe SK will be awaiting PAOK.

HC Vogosca Poljine Hills took a major step towards the next round, as the Bosnian side won the first leg of the double header at home against Holon Handball Club from Israel. Vogosca won 31:24 on Sunday, giving the home team the edge before the second match on Monday evening.
