Handball Federation of Montenegro fined
The EHF Court of Handball has released a decision on Wednesday in a case opened following the failure of the Handball Federation of Montenegro to deliver a TV signal via satellite during the entire first half of the Men’s EHF EURO 2018 qualifier, Montenegro vs. Sweden, which took place on 14 June 2017.
The match could therefore not be broadcast in Sweden during this time.
The panel found the failure to comply as a severe violation and imposed a fine of €30,000 in accordance with Article D.1 e) of the EHF List of Penalties.
The unavailability of the contact person when the problem occurred (i.e. one parameter was omitted by the host broadcaster) was also taken into consideration by the panel to define the extent of the fine.
Half of the fine is imposed on a suspended basis of two years as of the date of the present decision.
An appeal may be filed with the EHF Court of Appeal within seven days.
