Late drama brings Dinamo their first win

A Dinamo fan should never take for granted their team's win, even if the Romanian side is leading by a few goals near the end of the game. With Sajad Esteki's last-gasp shot, the Romanian side sealed their first win of the season, 29:28, as Dinamo tied Kadetten in the rankings.

  • Esteki scored only twice, but his last shot was the decisive goal for Dinamo
  • The Romanian side will face Elverum next week, while Kadetten host Velenje, in a pivotal game
  • Manuel Liniger was the top scorer of the match, netting 10 for Kadetten

Dinamo Bucuresti (ROU) vs Kadetten Schaffhausen (SUI) 29:28 (14:12)

With their previous season in mind, Dinamo knew that any misstep in the next matches would mean that their objective of progressing in the VELUX EHF Champions League would be nearly impossible to reach.

The Romanian side enjoyed a bright start against Kadetten, leading 6:4 after 12 minutes. Their 9-metre line joined Hugo Descat in a good offensive game, with the French wing picking up where he left off against Velenje on Saturday.

There was little to separate the two teams, as both sides continued to exchange both easy goals and errors. But Dinamo kept ahead, taking a 7:3 partial between the 35th and the 45th minute, to build up for the win.

However, the 23:19 score was hardly enough for Dinamo. A more experienced and gelled Swiss side managed to tie the game and everything was heading for a draw.

But a last-gasp shot from Sajad Esteki, whose throw went past the Swiss wall, sealed the deal for the Romanian club, who won their first game of the season 29:28.
