Programme revealed, registration deadline extended for EHF Scientific Conference

Two months before its start, the programme for the fourth edition of the EHF Scientific Conference has been published by the European Handball Federation.

On 17/18 November in Vienna, the ‘crème de la crème’ of handball scientists gathers in the Austrian capital to discuss and analyse ‘the scientific approach to the players’ environment – from participation to the top’ as the conference topic reads.

The deadline to register for this scientific highlight of the handball year has been extended to 13 October.

Details on how to register including suggestions for accommodation can be found in the attachment at the bottom of this text.

Experts from all fields

The goal of the conference is to bring professional and scientific experts together in order to reflect on all aspects related to the player’s environment (such as health science, training science and technology support), as well as to continue the acquisition of knowledge about medical aspects in our sport.

The conference opens with four key notes that mirror this broad approach handball science.

Austrian psychiatrist, Michael Musalek, a member of the EHF Scientific Network, opens the conference with a key note on the theory and practice of ‘Social Aesthetics and Handball’.

Further key notes touch on injury study in beach handball conducted by German scientist Leonard Achenbach.

His Polish colleague, Piotr Kaczmarek, speaks about the ‘biomechanical profile of the sport shoulder’, while Susana Povoas refers to the ‘Handball4Health Project’.

The conference then features a plethora of presentations – in oral as well as in a poster format – from Europe’s best scientists, among them also members of the EHF Scientific Network who have been assisting in the conference’s organisation.
