EHF set to launch tender process for media and marketing rights

The EHF has announced that it is to begin the tender process for its media and marketing rights for the period 2020 to 2030.

Working with the agency, SN1 Consulting, the EHF has developed a number of different rights packages across its club and national team competitions on a modular basis. Agencies are able to bid for selected rights or a comprehensive package across club and national team competitions.

Tender documents will be available from 18 September 2017 with bids due on 15 November 2017.

Broadcast and sponsorship rights available include all of the federation’s club competitions (EHF Champions League, EHF Cup and Challenge Cup), national team competitions (EHF EURO qualification/final tournament and youth events) as well as beach handball EURO final tournaments.

Expanded package of rights from 2020

The long-term offering from the EHF is an attractive proposition for the international sports market, especially given the continual improvement and development of the federation’s top competitions.

From 2020, the Men’s EHF EURO – an event, which attracted a cumulative audience of 1.65 billion in 2016 – will expand from 16 to 24 teams and the format of the VELUX EHF Champions League is set for a further development.
