Cvijic does fashion, Janc the handyman, and a new Karabatic in town
Every summer there are two constants in the Champions League. Hard training sessions, and an even harder laugh on players’ social media profiles.
But there is no better way to channel the demanding, and sometimes daunting, tasks over the hot summer days, than to make fun of them.
Cvijic’s summer collection
It is no secret that last year’s beaten finalists Vardar are working hard to go one step further and lift the elusive trophy this season. It is also well known that their new powerful Serbian line player Dragana Cvijic will be one of the key players for the upcoming season.
At times, she is simply unstoppable and she is sure to give her opponents a hard time over the coming season. But this week it appears she was on the end of some rough play in training, which left her showcasing her new fashion collection for the summer - a lovely off-the-shoulder number.
Janc the handyman
Things are harmonious in Kielce at least.
One sunny afternoon, Dean Bombac and Blaz Janc decided they should spend their leisure time doing something productive. So off they went to build a bed (presumably for Dean’s kid). Similar to their on-court roles, playmaker Dean was the smart one while Janc was the hard worker. Now, let us rate their effort:
It looks like a bed – check
Janc is leaning against it, so it seems sturdy enough – check
It seems somewhat small for either of them – check
And they both seem happy about it, which is the most important part – check
A perfect score for Kielce’s Slovenian duo!
The new Karabatic in town
Last week, a new Karabatic stole the show in Paris. Young Alek made his first handball steps at the Pierre de Coubertin venue, and his first effort was a goal!
We haven't seen the whole video, but rumours are young Alek played a mean defence against his father, conquering the ball and leaving him behind in a lightning fast break, which was crowned with a goal.
Everyone beware, there is a new Karabatic in town!
The Veszprem game
Meanwhile, everyone at Veszprem has been enjoying themselves. It seems Ljubo’s unconventional training methods are the way to go. The atmosphere seems great, and the players enjoy holding onto each other - literarily.

Kiel wasting no time
THW Kiel are back in business and looking strong. While others are still in training, the German powerhouse have already won their first official match of the season.
The Zebras were looking sharp in their season opening, judging by this effort from Christian Dissinger.
