Westsite Amsterdam and Chemo Profili lead ebt tables ahead of final weeks
The European Beach Tour 2017 continues this week with the first event, AVIA Beach Handball Tournament 2017, beginning on Thursday.
AVIA Beach Handball Tournament 2017 is the sixth in a row organised in Backa Palanka, and is one of Serbia’s last beach competitions of the season. Teams from Croatia, Greece and Slovakia will join local sides vying for the trophy.

On Friday, the 17th edition of 60 Hours of Beach Handball takes place at Marbelo Beach in Portugal. The tournament is true to its name, running for 60 hours without interruption, with 56 teams from Portugal and Spain participating this year. Along with the senior men’s and women’s competitions are Under 21, Under 18 and Under 16 tournaments.

Vespia Beach Event in Switzerland also starts on Friday, where eight men’s teams and 11 women’s sides will contest the title. The competition will feature Under 19 men’s and women’s competitions alongside the senior tournament, as well as mini beach handball and a ‘fun’ category.

On Saturday, HELLUS Beach Handball Tour 2017 Phase 3 takes place as the two-day British Beach Handball Championships begin. The British Beach Handball Championships will be held at Canford Cliffs in Poole, Dorset. It is the fifth edition of the BBHC, which began in 2013.
Points verified after 60 tournaments
With the ebt 2017 season almost at an end, Westsite Amsterdam and Chemo Profili Zagreb have claimed first place on the overall rankings.
After verification of points for 60 of the 67 scheduled competitions, Dutch side Westsite Amsterdam lead the women’s table with 1139 points ahead of Multichem-Szentendrei N.K.E. (Hungary) and grupo llopis bmp sevilla (Spain) on 1040. Detono Zagreb (Croatia) are fourth on 1016 points, while Poland’s KS Red Hot Czili Buk rank fifth on 989.
Chemo Profili Zagreb top the men’s table with 1140 points after verification of points for 61 of 67 competitions. They lead three Spanish sides and one from the Netherlands, with pinturas andalucia second on 1080 points, TSHV Camelot third with 1079, CBMP Ciudad de Malaga fourth on 1049 and Palletways Verallia Azuqueca fifth with 1036.
