Historic Marathon hosts end-of-season events

Seven European Beach Tour 2017 competitions were held over the weekend, with the spotlight on Greece, where their official beach handball activities for the season finished with two events: Anixi Marathon Beach Handball Tournament 2017 and the Greek Crown.

Anixi Marathon Beach Handball Tournament 2017 featured 16 teams, with a total of 47 matches played at Schinias Beach in Marathon. Apollon Kalamarias claimed the men’s gold medal ahead of AO ANIXIS in second and GAS Kilkis Golden Waves in third. In the women’s competition, A.C.Spartacus Goalbet placed first, A.O.A.Kastorias finished second and GAS Vasillopoulos from Cyprus ranked third.

At And’Praia 2017 – Edificio Transparente in Portugal, the men’s trophy went to Raccoons D’Areia/Activo Bank while the women’s was won by Be One/Teclur. O Sotao/This Is Team ranked second in the men’s competition ahead of Cinco Mais Um/ILS, while Nosdjimais finished second in the women’s with Raccoons D’Areia/Activo Bank in third.

In the Under 18 competitions, the gold medals went to men’s side Texas/Startmed Seguros and women’s team IA Sports BHC.

The Arena 500 continued in Spain with the VII Torneo Ciudad de Medina, where Movex Handbol Platja Granollers and Petit Morcillet raised the men’s and women’s trophies, respectively. Palletways Verallia Azuqueca B and Bmp Raqueros finished second and third in the men’s competition, while Clinica Vertebral HB placed second in the women’s and CB Osuna Madrid ranked third.

Novi Sad 2017 in Serbia saw an international competition with the Lady Bugs from Hungary claiming the women’s title ahead of Croatia’s WBHC Kontesa Nera and Hungary’s Multichem Szentendrei. The men’s title went to BHT CRO from Croatia, while Beach Stars (Hungary) ranked second and local team 2areg placed third.

The MVP in the women’s tournament was Aleksandra Mitic from 2areg, while the top goalkeeper was Lea Bulichev of Kontesa Nera. The men’s MVP was Stanko Petrovic from 2areg and Cekovec’s Benjamin Kovacevic was the awarded best goalkeeper.

Other ebt 2017 competitions held over the weekend include Camelot Beachhandball Tournament 2017, featuring national teams from Australia, Argentina and Germany, Beach Handball Delfin Gmina Grudziadz, XXIII BEACH HANDBALL PEDROGAO 2017, 4a Etapa ActivoBank – CRAP Lisboa/Setubal and the 18th Greek Crown.
