45 youth national teams to learn EHF Championship 2018 fate

The two-tier men’s Younger Age Category events will be fully implemented for the first time in both under 18 and under 20 categories in the summer of 2018.

The draw of the EHF M18 and M20 Championships will take place at the EHF Office in Vienna on Tuesday 18 July at 15:00 CEST and will be followed by the IHF Men’s World Championship 2019 Qualification Phase 1 draw. Watch the draw live on the EHF EURO Facebook page and the EHF EURO YouTube channel at the bottom of this page.

EHF Men's 18 Championships draw

The first step of the draw will see the allocation of the team pools to the M18 Championship 1 in Austria and to the M18 Championship 2 in Georgia will take place. Ireland and Kosovo have already been allocated to M18 Championship 1 in Austria and Faroe Islands are allocated to the M18 Championship 2 in Georgia, which means the event in Austria will contain 12 teams and 11 teams will play in Georgia.

Based on the younger age category competitions ranking valid for the EHF M18 EURO and EHF M18 Championships 2018, the participating teams are divided in two equal value pools as follows:

Teams Pool 1 Teams Pool 2
1 SUI CZE

6 FIN NED
7 GRE LAT
8 EST UKR
9 GEO (Org. Championship 2) KOS (Championship 1)

The events will take place in Tulln, Austria and Tbilisi, Georgia on 10 to 19 August 2018.

EHF Men's 20 Championships draw

22 nations will compete in the EHF M20 Championship, hosted by FYR Macedonia and Montenegro. Much like the M18 events, the participating teams are divided in two equal value pools as follows:

Following the draw to decide which pool of teams will play in which event, the 11 teams in each pool will be drawn into two groups, one with six teams and one with five.

The events will take place in Skopje, FYR Macedonia and Podgorica, Montenegro on 20 to 29 July 2018.
