SC Magdeburg are very close to being able to book their tickets to Göppingen and the LIQUI MOLY EHF Cup Finals after their large win away over Helvetia Anaitasuna.

QUARTER-FINAL, LEG 1
Helvetia Anaitasuna (ESP) vs SC Magdeburg (GER) 27:34 (13:15)
Magdeburg have one foot in the door to the LIQUI MOLY EHF Cup Finals in Göppingen next month after their impressive win in Pamplona.
Magdeburg were dominating from the start, leading 6:1, 8:3 and 9:4.
At first, Anaitasuna came back, and 23 minutes into the match, their Brazilian right wing Gabriel Jung equalised making it 10:10.
However, it did not take long for the visitors to create another lead, and after a relatively modest two-goal lead at half-time, Magdeburg took over completely again after the break.
For the first part of the second half, the Bundesliga team was leading by four or five goals, and in the last quarter of an hour, they increased the gap even further.
With three and a half minute left, Magdeburg had their biggest lead, being nine goals up at 33:24, and although their final win was two goals less, they will undoubtedly be content with that too before the return match in the Magdeburg next weekend.
