2017 "RINCK" Convention Seminar takes place in Vienna

With representatives from more than 30 signatory member federations present, the 2017 EHF "RINCK" Convention Seminar took place on 9/10 February at the EHF Office in Vienna.

"The EHF "RINCK" Convention’s major objective is to create and protect the coaching profession and ease the way for the free movement of qualified coaches within Europe in accordance with European law and EU Standards," said EHF Senior Manager and "RINCK" Convention expert Doru Simion when presenting the convention's current status.

"The EHF also wants to promote the exchange of coach education by encouraging its 50 member federations - and the two associate members - to share technical knowledge with the overall benefit of European handball in mind."

Looking ahead

The two years since 2015, when the last ‘‘RINCK‘‘ Convention Seminar took place, have been full of numerous undertakings that successfully influenced the operation of the venture. The ideas and plans presented in 2015 were improved and put into practice with the significant support of the signatories.

Special efforts of the EHF Methods Commission concerning the expansion of the ‘‘RINCK‘‘ Convention have been very successful; currently it consists of 38 EHF Member Federations.

Regarding the development of the educational process proposed at the 2013 EHF ‘‘RINCK‘‘ Convention Seminar, the third ‘EHF Open Master Coach and Licensing Course‘ was finalised in Gothenburg in December 2016.

Following the 2 year EHF Master Coach Course rhythm, the next edition of the ‘EHF Open Master Coach and Licensing Course‘ shall take place in the year 2018, under the same structure, three modules and individual theses to be produced and defended by the participants.

The EHF Coaching Licensing system for EHF competitions on level 3 already started in the season 2014/15. It is administered by the EHF by means of an EHF database in close cooperation with the national federations that are signatory countries.

Targets

Therefore, the declared objectives of the 2017 EHF ‘‘RINCK‘‘ Convention Seminar were to acquaint the signatories with the standards and curriculum of new educational targets, with regards to the EHF Open Master Coach and Licensing Courses, the National Master Coach and Licensing Courses, the EHF PRO Licence and EHF Coaching Licence and its smooth transition to 2020, the expansion of EHF ‘‘RINCK‘‘ Convention as well as to discuss the contribution of the participants, especially national targets and ways to implement regional solutions and further perspectives.

"Together we should find the right measures to optimise ‘RINCK’ Convention practice in an interactive way, adapted to your own sport culture, handball tradition and current daily situation," said Simion.

The full seminar documentation is available on the EHF's activities website.
