GROUP A
Metz Handball (FRA) vs Glassverket (NOR) 25:19, 12:10

Last weekend during the first meeting between the two teams, Metz led 15:7, then was down 18:16, but came back to win 24:22 in the end.

This time, there were not any large lead changes, but after an equal first half, Metz managed to take a clear win in the second.

Dominating goalkeepers

The first half was dominated by the goalkeepers, Laura Glauser for Metz and Guro Rundbraten for Glassverket. Metz led with initiative most of the way, but Glassverket managed to keep the game equal and were even ahead once 8:7.

Metz out-ran Glassverket

However, in the second half, Metz outran their opponents. Glauser kept up her fine work in the home side’s goal and through counter attacks, along with a more vivid attacking play, Metz managed to increase their lead almost uninterrupted throughout the last 30 minutes of play. The French side’s highest lead was by seven goals at 24:17, before the home team then booked a six-goal win.

Metz are still keeping up with Buducnost at the top of Group A, now with six points after four matches, while Glassverket are still at zero.
