Court of Handball fines Budvanjska Rivijera and Filippos Verias

The Court of Handball has released two decisions in proceedings opened against the clubs Budvanska Rivijera (MNE) and Filippos Verias (GRE) following the Men’s EHF Cup 2016/17 Qualification Round 1 (2nd leg) played on 10 September 2016.

At the 54:02 minute of the match, a brawl involving players and officials of both teams took place. The Court of Handball finds that such a behaviour violates the principles of fair-play and sportsmanship set forth in particular in Article 2 of the EHF Cup Regulations and in the EHF Code of Conduct.

In accordance with Article B.2 of the EHF List of Penalties, a fine of €2,000 is imposed on each club. Half of this fine is imposed on a suspended basis for a probation period of two years.

An appeal may be filed within seven days.
