Swiss and Spanish sides going to finish the job

Two of the three matches in the Women's Challenge Cup last weekend ended with away wins, but it is actually the only home winner who is closest to the next round.

DHB Rotweiss Thun SPL 1 won as big as 34:17 at home against ASD Ariosto Pallamano Ferrara, and strange things will therefore have to happen, if the Swiss team cannot celebrate the Round 3 berth after their visit to Italy Saturday.

Helvetia BM Alcobendas are also closing in on the next round before receiving ZRK Kumanova Saturday. Having won 23:17 in FYR Macedonia, the Spanish team should also be able to finish the job and book the ticket for the next round.

CS Madeira also have the upper hand before hosting SSV Dornbirn Schoren on Saturday. The Portuguese team won the first leg in Austria 36:34, so they have an obvious advantage ahead of the home game.

Dornbirn line player Julia Feierle has not given up on her team's chances, though, but she finds need for improvement in several areas.

“We will have to be better at running home and to stop Madeira's fast middle. Furthermore, we will have to move closer together in our defence," she told Dornbirn Schoren's website.

In a double header this weekend, ZRK Ilidza from Bosnia Herzegovina and Turkish Zagnosspor are meeting in two matches Friday and Saturday in Trabzon, Turkey.
