New video portal teaches basic handball movements

The European Handball Federation has launched on its website a new video portal featuring teaching material for basic handball movements.

The project was prepared together with the EHF Methods Commission and the Polish Handball Federation. The material was produced and the final visual presentation done by the University of Las Palmas.

The overall 37 clips are divided into two sections: basic handball movements and goalkeeping.

There are five categories in "basic handball movements" section.

• Catching the ball
• Passing the ball
• Shot preparation 3 steps
• Throwing at goal/shooting
• Feinting

Within the "goalkeeping" section the following areas are covered

• Basics
• Saving techniques (positioning in the goal)
• Saving shots from 6m
• Wing saves
