Germany, France, Norway with best chances to reach semi-final

It was a crucial win that Norway recorded on Sunday night in Kolding when they met Denmark in the last Group C game of the preliminary round at the Men's 20 EHF EURO in Denmark.

Not only did the 23:22 (11:11) win secure them a spot in the tourmanent's main round, it also sees them taking two valuable points to the main round which starts on Tuesday. Live streams for all matches are accessible via http://livestream.com/m20euro.

Denmark on the other hand, as the second team to qualify for the main round from Group C, will have to fight hard to keep their medal hopes alive as they enter the main round with zero points.

In the main round, Norway and Denmark face Germany and Croatia, the two teams that qualified from Group D. On Sunday, Germany won their third game 30:22 against Hungary, while Croatia beat Sweden 30:28.

France continue to dominate

In Group A, France continued the dominating form they had already shown before. The 33:23 win against Switzerland meant that they also won their third group game by 10 goals or more. They had already beaten Serbia 33:22 and Poland 34:20.

The second team to qualify from Group A is Poland who beat Serbia 33:27. Poland enter the main round with zero points, while France start with two points on their tally.

In Group B, Spain and Iceland had already qualified for the main round ahead of the last match. Their 28:28 draw on Sunday means that both will be taking one point to the main round.

In Main Round Group M1, Iceland play Poland (14:00 hrs local time) and France face Spain (16:00 hrs) on 2 August. At 18:00 hrs Norway against Croatia opens Group M2. The main round's first day concludes with Denmark vs Germany at 20:00 hrs.
