Semi-final pairings of the VELUX EHF FINAL4 to be drawn on Tuesday

The idyllic setting of 'The View' in Cologne, located right on the bank of the river Rhine, will host the last draw event of the 2015/16 VELUX EHF Champions League season on Tuesday 3 May. The four best teams, who made it all they way to the VELUX EHF FINAL4 (28/29 May 2016), will learn the names of their semi-final opponents.

There is an interesting mixture of the four participants as the only former champions to make it that far this season THW Kiel are accompanied by two other returnees from the last FINAL4 edition MVM Veszprem and Vive Tauron Kielce, plus newcomers to LANXESS arena Paris Saint-Germain Handball.

THW Kiel will make the trip to Cologne for the sixth time (out of seven editions), while Veszprem and Vive Tauron Kielce will enter the final tournament for the third time.

The VELUX EHF FINAL4 draw event will start at 12:00 hrs. local time and apart from a new format of the event with a TV-like studio, the draw balls will look different in comparison to previous seasons.

Open draw

The VELUX EHF FINAL4 draw will be completely open and all four teams will be drawn from the same pot. The draw will be conducted in four simple steps.
1 - Team 1 will be drawn for Semi-final 1
2 - Team 3 will be drawn for Semi-final 2
3 - Team 2 will be drawn for Semi-final 1
4 - Team 4 will be drawn for Semi-final 2

The playing times of both semi-finals and final matches have remained unchanged with first matches to be played at 15:15 hrs and second at 18:00 hrs on both days. The exact playing order will be announced in due time following negotiations with TV partners.

The whole event starting at 12:00 hrs will be streamed live and free on ehfTV.com. Right after the draw one of the VELUX EHF FINAL4 hosts Anett Sattler will provide the fans with immediate players’ reactions via a skype chat.
