Handball Federation of Malta fined
The EHF Court of Handball on Wednesday, 20 April, released a decision in the case opened following the withdrawal of the Handball Federation of Malta from the 2016 IHF/EHF Women’s Trophy.
The federation withdrew from participating after it had registered for the event and taken part in the draw.
The national federation is hence fined 15,000 euro for withdrawing from the competition in accordance with Article C.2 of the EHF List of Penalties.
Part of the fine, i.e. 10,000 euro, is imposed on a suspended basis with a probation period of one year since the Court of Handball found mitigating circumstances.
The federation has the right to appeal to the Court of Appeal within seven days of the decision's release.
