NEWS REPORT: ehfTV series visits the Macedonian capital on the upcoming Saturday for the Match of the Week as HC Vardar take on Orlen Wisla Plock in the second leg of the Last 16
MOTW returns to Skopje
The deafening cauldron of the Jane Sandanski Arena will play host to the Match of the Week in the second leg of the VELUX EHF Champions League Last 16 after EHF Marketing has announced that the ehfTV series stays in the Balkans for another week after Zagreb hosted the first leg last Saturday.
The home side HC Vardar take on Orlen Wisla Plock on Saturday at 18:00 hrs local time in a deja vu of the last season’s Last 16 tie. The Macedonian champions, who returned from Poland with a six-goal deficit last year, have a much more promising starting position this time around as they tied the Polish runners-up 30:30 last week.
Only Plock and MOL-Pick Szeged were able to avoid home defeats against the seeded teams in the first leg.
ehfTV commentator Tom O’Brannagain, who will guide the TV viewers through the match, welcomed the announcement of the MOTW, which came on International Poetry Day in an appropriate fashion – with an acrostic poem.
