The EHF has announced that its long-standing partnership with leading sports equipment manufacturer, adidas, will not be extended beyond the end of the current season

The EHF and adidas, the federation’s long-standing partner for sports equipment and clothing, have confirmed that their cooperation will not continue when the current contract expires at the end of June 2016.

adidas has been the official EHF partner for sporting equipment and clothing since 1992, supplying  official match balls for the federation’s top competitions and events as well as sports clothing for EHF officials.

Commenting on the end of the 25-year partnership, Jean Brihault, EHF President, said: “adidas has been a trusted partner of the EHF over many years and has played a major part in the development not only of the federation but also the sport.

“Whilst no longer a partner of the EHF, I am sure the company will continue play an active role on the handball market in the future.”

Guenter Weigl, adidas' Senior Vice President Sports Marketing and Brand Relations commented: “adidas has been a supporter of the European Handball Federation (EHF) for over 25 years and part of the handball landscape for over 70 years.

“adidas wishes the EHF every success in the future and will remain committed to the sport through its continued investment and association with national federations, clubs and individual players."
