Olimpus' Boret suspended for one match

The EHF Court of Handball has reached a decision following disciplinary proceedings opened following the direct disqualification received by Alexandr Boret at 22:13 minutes of the 2015/16 Challenge Cup 3rd Round 2nd Leg match: HC Olimpus‐85‐USEFS (MDA) vs Handball Esch (LUX) which took place in Luxembourg on 29 November 2015.

The Olimpus player was directly disqualified for pushing an opponent from the side during a match interruption. The contact was such that the opponent fell to the floor but no injury was caused.

The EHF Court of Handball finds in substance that the foul was reckless, dangerous and intentionally committed as an act of retaliation.

Hence, the player is therefore suspended from participating in EHF European Cup competitions for one match.

An appeal may be filed with the EHF Court of Appeal within seven days.
