Women’s EHF Champions League trophy hits the road

Following its creation towards the end of last season, the new Women’s Champions League trophy has begun a journey that will give handball fans a chance to rendezvous with the top prize in women’s club handball during February’s trophy tour.

The first stop on the tour was Györ on 6 February, which gave fans attending the match between Győri Audi ETO and CSM Bucuresti an opportunity to take a picture with the recently designed trophy.

In 2015, the event organisers of the Women’s EHF FINAL4, the Hungarian Handball Federation and the EHF Marketing GmbH joined forces with the renowned Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest to have a new trophy created.

After a number of designers submitted a range of interesting concepts, Krisztián Ádám and Balázs Sipos were chosen to create the final piece. The first side to lift it was Montenegro’s ZRK Buducnost and it has been re-built for the 2016 event on 7/8 May.

Further dates of the Women's EHF FINAL4 Trophy Tour:
13 February, Budapest: FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria vs Rostov-Don
