ROUND PREVIEW: The seven teams to follow Kastamonu to the quarter-finals of the Women’s Challenge Cup to emerge this weekend
Double headers in Netherlands, Macedonia and Portugal
By winning their double header at home against Polish Metraco Zaglebie Lubin, Kastamonu B. Genclik SK have already qualified for the quarter-finals of the Women’s Challenge Cup.
This weekend, the remaining seven quarter-finalists are going to make themselves known.
Furthermore, three of the ties will be decided as double headers.
In the Netherlands, Schuler Afbouwgroep/DOS are receiving ZRK IZVOR BUKOVICKA BANKA-Arandjelovac from Serbia.
The first leg is taking place Friday night with the return match Saturday night.
In Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, Colegio de Gaia have the home advantage against Ukrainian HC Karpaty Friday and Saturday evening.
Saturday and Sunday afternoon, the Sport Center Jane Sandanski is the venue of the meetings between HC Vardar junior and ZRK Minaqua Vojvodina Novi Sad from Serbia.
In two other ties in the Last 16 see both the away teams defend a six-goal leads from the first leg.
28:22 was the score in both first leg matches, with which Polish EKS Start Elblag defeated ZRK Mlinotest Ajdovscina from Slovenia last weekend.
The return match, where the Slovenian team will have to try and catch up with that deficit is taking place in Ajdovscina Saturday evening.
DHC Sokol Poruba will try to defend their 28:22 lead Saturday afternoon in Izmir, Turkey, as the Czech team visit Izmir BSB SK for the second leg.
Dutch Virto/Quintus and Spanish Rocasa Gran Canaria ACE are practically already in the quarter-finals ahead of their home games this weekend.
Virto/Quintus won as big as 37:13 in Switzerland against Yellow Winterthur last weekend, while Rocasa won 38:23 in Kosovo against KHF Shqipona.
