All good to go for the last time this year, as we look back at the previous week, saying goodbye to the exciting 2015, and hello to the action-packed 2016.
You know what they say, the way you end this year affects the way you begin the next. And we are certainly following that rule, so grab your computer or mobile device, tune in to the ehfCL.com and enjoy the latest in lives of your favourite handball stars.
It is all about the festivities, but do not forget the Champions League comes back just five days from the start of the year, with 13 clashes of women’s handball action, starting with Fleury vs Thüringer (6 January).
However, before we set out to our weekly journey, something is wrong at Palau Blaugrana. And to find out what, Victor Tomas meets Juan Carlos Navarro, as Barceloniastas investigate.

Handball-themed Christmas
Whether it is Merry Christmas or Frohe Weihnachten, Ljubo’s Jungs have their way of saying it. Radivojevic and the gang had an impromptu tree decorating session after training, using whatever came handy. While it’s clearly not the winner in the most beautiful Christmas tree category, it’s surely a main contender in the ranks of its own – a handball themed Christmas. We like it, how about you?
Who would not like Miha Zvizej as an uncle, come Christmas? Arguably the most genuine Santa Claus among the handball stars finally put his beard to a good use. Montpellier line player spent the festive period with his family, entertaining his nephews and children of Celje star Luka Zvizej, while opening the presents - some of which may or may not be handball-themed.
It may be cold outside, but it’s heating up in Skopje, with an unexpected Christmas present from Vardar girls! Vadarke took their time off the court to make a calendar for a leading Macedonian beverage company. The Vardar stars showed a side somewhat different to their on-court persona, and this photo-shoot is bound to be a big hit. Would you like to start your new year with Damnjanovic and friends?
Unleashing the inner child
Christmas time is the perfect occasion for unleashing that inner child we all have. Even the biggest handball stars nurture their own boyhood pleasures they have never given up on. Julen Aguinagalde’s dream to one day become a genuine Playmobile character just became real, as the entire Spanish national team is given a new toy-like persona. A perfect present ahead of the EHF EURO 2016.
Meanwhile his “Los Hispanos” teammate Raul Entrerrios has “realised the power of the Force”. It is apparent by the attire that Barcelona centre back is favouring the Dark Side, but only for the Star Wars series sequel premiere. However, you will have to wait until 16 January to see whether the force will be with Spaniards come the EHF EURO 2016.
Les Experts hit the gym
It is not all fun these days, and to prove it, the best of them have begun their work in earnest to be ready for the EHF EURO 2016. French national team took their title defence very seriously and if the way Karabatic brothers and co. are spending much of their Christmas time in the gym.
