Another Slovenian player joins Montpellier

After making it official that Matej Gaber would no longer be part of the club, Montpellier has announced this morning that Miha Zvizej, another Slovenian player, would join next season.

The 28-year-old line player currently plays for Toulouse this season, having arrived in France in 2012. "He's already proven how good he is, and the fact that he already knows the likes of Vid Kavticnik and Jure Dolenec from the national team is obviously a great thing for us," said Patrice Canayer, the coach of Montpellier.

Zvizej has only signed for one season as 24-year-old French line player Benjamin Afgour will join Montpellier in the summer of 2017. Afgour has already gained Champions League experience with Dunkerque the last two seasons and a few national team appearances under his belt. He has signed a contract until 2020.

In Toulouse, Miha Zvizej will be replaced by the powerful Fredric Pettersson, who has scored 22 goals in the VELUX EHF Champions League this season for IFK Kristianstad.

The arrival of Miha Zvizej is already the fourth move confirmed for next season in Montpellier, after Toulouse teammate Valentin Porte, Swiss goalkeeper Nikola Portner from Kadetten Schaffhausen and Dunkerque right winger Théophile Caussé also committed their future to the club.
