ROUND REVIEW: Two teams ready for the next round of the Men's Challenge Cup after double-headers this weekend.
Dukla Praha and HC Kehra in the Last 16
Dukla Praha and HC Kehra are ready for the Last 16 of the Men's Challenge Cup after big wins in double-headers this weekend.
Dukla Praha were receiving ASS Spes from Cyprus, and the Czech hosts turned out to have no problems with their visitors.
After a 32:15 in the first leg in Prague Saturday, the return match was actually a formality, in which the hosts could take things a bit easier, but still book a 26:20 win.
HC Kehra are following the Czech team to the next round after eliminating London GD Handball club with an aggregate difference of no less than 38 goals.
On home ground in the Kehra Sporthall, the Estonian club won 37:16 in the first leg Saturday and 43:26 Sunday.
In the remake of last season's final, ABC/UMinho from Portugal seem to be on their way to get their revenge against Handball club Odorhei. In the first match in Romania, ABC/UMinho won 25:24 despite being down 12:8 at half-time.
Ramat Hashron “vitania” HC from Israel have a very good chance to follow Dukla and Kehra to the Last 16 after their 22:22 draw away against FIQAS Aalsmeer. The Dutch home team was leading 9:7 at half-time, but in the second half the visitors caught up and give themselves a fine situation ahead of the second leg at home Saturday.
St. Petersburg HC also have a fine chance to proceed after their narrow 25:24 defeat away to Bosnian HC Vogosca Poljine Hills. The second leg is in Russia on Sunday.
